The Illinois Jaycee Charitable Foundation conducts the annual scholarship competition on behalf of the Illinois Jaycees. A member of the IJCF Board is responsible for the scholarship program.
ELIGIBILITY: All graduating high school seniors, residing in Illinois, who will be enrolling in their first year of full-time study at accredited post-secondary colleges, universities or vocational school are eligible for application. Jaycee chapters are encourage to sponsor an applicant or an individual may apply independently.
CRITERIA FOR AWARD: Recipients are based upon involvement, leadership roles, honors and awards, employment, personal statement, financial statement, scholastic achievement and references. Specific questions can be found on the application. Judging is done by an independent group with recipients being notified in December.
All applications must be received by November 1st of each year to be considered.

ADVANCED SCHOLARSHIP COMPETITION: The United States JCI Senate Foundation conducts scholarship award competition annually in February. Each Jaycee state is allowed to submit two nominees for this competition. The judging criteria used by the Illinois Jaycee Charitable Foundation is patterned after that of the US JCI Foundation competition.
Two recipients of the Illinois Jaycee Charitable Foundation Scholarship Award will become the nominees from Illinois for the US JCI Senate Foundation Scholarship Award. Application deadline for this scholarship competition is due at the end of January.
Scholarship applications are available by contacting the Illinois Jaycee Service Center, local high school guidance offices or downloading the application form. Official announcement and recipient introductions will be at the Illinois Jaycees General Assembly Business Meeting in February of each year.
The number of $1000 scholarships awarded annually will be determined by the amount of funds raised from the result of The Larry Olsen Memorial Golf Tournament held in August of each year and through private donations from other foundations and individuals.
